Intended use
SpermFreeze TM and SpermFreeze TM SSP are human sperm cryopreservation media for subsequent use in assisted reproduction techniques. SpermFreeze TM can also be used for the cryopreservation of sperm from testicular biopsies (TESE).
SpermFreeze TM SSP is a more concentrated cryopreservation medium that allows a higher volume of sperm to be cryopreserved:
SpermFreeze TM requires 0.7 to 1 ml of medium for 1 ml of sperm.
SpermFreeze TM SSP requires 1 ml medium for 3 ml sperm.
SpermFreeze TM and SpermFreeze TM SSP are ready to use.
Composition
SpermFreeze TM and SpermFreeze TM SSP are HEPES-buffered media that also contain physiological salts, glycine, glucose, lactate and glycerol cryoprotectants (15% and 27% for SpermFreeze TM and SpermFreeze TM SSP respectively), sucrose and human serum albumin (4.0 g/l, a medicinal substance derived from human blood plasma) to protect sperm from damage during the freezing procedure.
